Meet The clinic Founder
Nicole Laird
Founder Of Hays County Physical Therapy And Wellness | Physical Therapist | Doctor Of Physical Therapy
As a mother herself, Nicole understands that it is hard to figure out how to get it all done. After having her son, and realizing that there was a huge lack of information, guidance, and knowledge for postpartum women, Nicole knew she had to help guide women back to their health, fitness, and exercise routines safely. Nicole was plagued with minor injury after injury when trying to return to her favorite activities of CrossFit, yoga, and running after having her son, she knew she needed to develop a safe place for women to learn how to build strength again from the inside out. She made it her mission to guide as many women through the journey of pregnancy and postpartum health and fitness as possible. She NEVER wants a woman to feel alone or as though she has to stop all activities she loves because of pain or discomfort.

She wanted to be able to empower women to understand all the changes that happen to their body and how to safely navigate through all of life’s stages to remain active and energized for a lifetime. That’s why she knew she had to start Hays County Physical Therapy and Wellness. Hays County Physical Therapy and Wellness empowers women looking to get their body back after baby (even after 30 years), avoid extra bathroom trips, and avoid pelvic pain to feel like themselves again and return to the activities and exercises they love. Being able to help so many women is a dream come true for Nicole. Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Edward’s University and went on to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Houston. She is trained in pelvic floor function, dysfunction, and treatment, is a member of the Global Pelvic Health Alliance , is a certified Clinical Athlete Weightlifting Coach through Clinical Athlete and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Women’s Health. Nicole is also a certified personal trainer through American College of Sports Medicine and is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach.

I don’t know where I would be if I had not found Nicole! Birth and postpartum period took me by surprise and I did not know where to start to begin healing and taking care of my body. Nicole walked me through the most vulnerable time of my life with gentle exercise and care. She created a space that honored what I was going through and I never once felt rushed or like I wasn’t making progress. She pushed me gently when she knew I was ready and had me rest when she saw I was pushing myself too hard. I felt like I was in very experienced and capable hands. Through our weeks together I made so much progress and now it’s even hard to remember how I felt when I started. I feel strong and healed. And, more importantly, I feel witnessed and validated when so much of my experience in the medical setting I felt overlooked and unconsidered. Thankyou a million times over!

Before I came in to see Nicole, I couldn’t walk up or down stairs without pain and lots of reservation; it was even difficult rolling over in bed! My daughter was getting married in a couple of months and we had practiced line dancing outside one night and I guess I just pulled something in my knee. I waited a month or so before coming in, thinking the pain would go away. I finally went to see Nicole at Hays County PT and Wellness and I’m glad I did! My first day I couldn’t even bend my knee 90 degrees, and Nicole took great care of me! In four one hour sessions, she had me not only walking up and down stairs, but I was able to dance/line dance at my daughters wedding with ease! I loved that she used functional therapy by having me bring my dancing shoes and do some moves at my last therapy before the wedding. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She goes over the exercises and makes sure I do them right. It was truly simple and painless! Nicole is a blessing, so if you are like me and think the pain will go away, save yourself some time and go into Hays Co. PT today and let Nicole take care of you!

Dr. Nicole Laird is an amazing PT. For the past year I have been having issues with my bladder and my pelvic floor. I have been to see urologists and gynecologists, none could tell me for sure what was going on. Starting physical therapy this summer for the pelvic floor has been a game changer. My symptoms have lessened significantly, and on most days I don’t even have them anymore. Dr. Laird was thorough during the exam, explained everything to me and took time to answer all my questions. Throughout our sessions together she is continually supportive and caring. As my sessions are coming to an end, I am happy because of the progress I have made with her, but sad because I will miss our time together.
Thankyou for everything!
