Men Have a Pelvic Floor Too, and Half of Them Have Never Heard That

Pelvic floor therapy has a reputation as something for women after childbirth. That reputation is costing a lot of men a great deal. Men have exactly the same group of muscles, performing exactly the same jobs — supporting the pelvic organs, controlling bladder and bowel, and contributing to sexual function. And when those muscles stop working properly, the results are just as disruptive. The conditions involved are common, the evidence for treating them is reasonably strong, and most men affected have never been told any of this exists.
